If you enjoy exploring, there are a number of historical places in los angeles that are perfect to explore and learn more about the culture of L.A. One such place is Griffith Park, which was created back in 1896. Since then, it has been a place for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the outdoors as well as other fun activities such as the Travel Town Train Museum.
Created back in 1952, the Travel Town Museum was made as an opportunity for children to imagine being conductors on a steam engine train and a way to memorialize the impact that railroads had during the early 1900s in California. Today, the museum still has original locomotives, freight cars and cabooses, passenger cars and motorcars that are all on display. When you visit Travel Town, you can also go on a ride on a railroad and train that loops around the Travel Town museum two times. After riding on the miniature train, you can also explore the dozens of original railroad locomotives that used to run in the area. Ride fares for the miniature train is just $2.75 per person. On the weekdays, train rides are offered until 3:15pm and on weekends and holidays, train rides are offered until 4:15pm. During the summer, weekend train rides run until 4:45pm. Additionally, during weekdays, train rides close during lunch time from 12:15 - 1pm. Train rides begin at 10am daily.
