holiday tips and tricks

You might not believe it, but it’s true, visiting Los Angeles on a budget is definitely a doable thing. Just because L.A. is home to celebrities and Hollywood, it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the city while not breaking the bank. If you happen to be traveling to the city of angels during the holidays, not only can you enjoy the warm weather, you can also enjoy some affordable activities that are great for the whole family. Here are some travel tips to consider during your time in Los Angeles.

First things first, take advantage of the outdoors. If you’re going to be in Los Angeles during the holidays, it’s likely that you’re escaping from a colder area and will be enjoying the warmer weather. While others in the county are bundling up and wearing snow jackets, you can be walking outside in shorts and a t-shirt. Some of the best ways to enjoy the warmer weather is by hitting the beach or by taking a hike. Griffith park is a great place to visit as there are multiple hiking trails that range from easy to challenging. All the trails however offer excellent views of the city below. In fact, on a clear day, you’ll even be able to see all the way to the pacific ocean! Speaking of the ocean, there are beaches to explore during your time in L.A. It’s important to note however, even though it may be warm outside, the water will still be cold. If you don’t want to immerse yourself in the water, a walk along the shore or a picnic on the sand is still a great way to enjoy the beach. And best of all, aside from parking, both of these options are free!

Another budget friendly option is to explore Downtown L.A. This area of Los Angeles houses the financial district and offers a number of free activities. Walk around the downtown area and check out popular destinations such as the Disney Concert Hall or the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Additionally, in Downtown, you’ll find Grand Park and Pershing Square. Both of these outdoor parks often host FREE events throughout the year. Visit their official website and see what budget friendly events they have lined up for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.
