When it comes to exploring Los Angeles, there’s no reason that you have to break the budget to have some fun. In fact, there are plenty of free things to do in L.A, especially during the summer. Another way you can save is by using the Metro, the best way to get around los angeles without a car. This summer, see what you can discover in L.A.

If you’re going to be in Los Angeles this summer, you have to head to the beach. Great for the whole family, this free activity can satisfy everyone. Be sure to back a beach towel, some food and plenty of sunscreen. Then work on your tan and enjoy the waves! Another fun option is to head to Dockweiler Beach. This is the only beach in the area that allows bonfires. Come early to stake your claim as there are limited campfire locations and enjoy a night of s'mores by the beach!

If you’re in the mood to dance, be sure to catch one of Dance Downtown events that is held throughout the summer at Grand Park. The event is open to ages 5 and up so feel free to bring the whole family along. Every Friday night through the summer, enjoy a different genre of music including line dancing, salsa, bollywood, disco and more. Enjoy this FREE event.

The Griffith Observatory is a Los Angeles landmark and it is also FREE and open to the public. Learn a little more about space and our universe while also enjoying spectacular views of Los Angeles below. While you’re at it, enjoy another classic free activity that is enjoyed by locals year round - going on a hike and seeing the Hollywood Sign. The Hollywood Sign is also conveniently located at Griffith Park so you can easily enjoy both of these activities in one day.
