Echo Park is a trendy and up and coming city in Los Angeles. Known for their hipster stores and music venues, Echo Park is a great place to visit if you are looking for a cool day trip. Read on to learn more about what you can discover when you visit Echo Park.

One fun thing to do while at Echo Park is to visit the park. As you walk around, consider getting onto the water with one of the Pedal Boats you can rent! The lake at Echo Park has recently been restored with clear water as well as beautiful lotus beds at one end of the lake. Additionally, if you don’t want to rent a pedal boat, you can also rent a 6 person Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe or go on a romantic gondola ride for two. Pedal boats are available for rent for just $10 per person. Rentals are $5 per child.

If you’re going to be spending some time at Echo Park, be sure to catch one of the live shows at the popular music venue, The Echo. The Echo is an especially popular venue to locals as there are a number of local bands that get to play on stage. Echo Park also has great areas to shop. One boutique you should try and visit is the Lemon Frog Shop Vintage Bazaar. This impressive boutique offers some of the best vintage wares in the area. Specializing in pieces from the ‘60s and ‘70s, you can find great steals for tons of fashionable items. There is even a large section of items for just $10 so however much you want to spend, there’s something for you. You’ll find Lemon Frog Shop at 1202 N. Alvarado St.

The Time Travel Mart is a fun and quirky shop located in Echo Park. The store is a perfect place to pick up some tchotchkes and other souvenirs or gifts. There are also fun novelty items such as Dinosaur Eggs or fun vintage toys. Additionally, merchandise that you buy goes towards raising money for 826LA, which is a non-profit writing and tutoring center. Buy some fun souvenirs while donating money to a good cause!
