One of the most awaited for days in LA is now back for locals and visitors to enjoy. Get ready for CicLAvia - Heart of LA. This all day event encourages friends and family to come out and explore Los Angeles! Whether it be through bicycles, walking, running or anything else, enjoy the opportunity to explore LA through streets that have been closed off to car traffic.
This year, the route will take you through areas of Los Angeles such as Chinatown, Boyle Heights, Westlake and Downtown LA. If you have never attended CicLAvia before, here are some things to know. This is a FREE event that is open to everyone! Whether you feel running, walking, skating, bicycling, or you’ll be pushing a baby carriage, this event is for you! The event is also not a race. Therefore, there is no starting point nor finish line. The event is for guests to simply explore Los Angeles in a unique way. Therefore, start wherever you like and make your way through the closed off streets at your own pace.
Throughout the course, there will be various “hubs” that you can go to for more information on the event. At these hubs, you can also receive medical attention or information about fun things to do in the area. Hubs are located at MacArthur Park, at 4200 W 7th St.; Grand Park, at 301 W 1st Street; Chinatown, at 960 N. Broadway; and at the Mariachi Plaza at 100 S Boyle Ave. This October, enjoy the nation’s largest open streets events. Past CicLAvia events have been in areas such as Pasadena, Culver City and Venice, The Valley, Southeast cities, and along Wilshire Blvd. For more information on this exciting event, visit www.ciclavia.org/ciclavia_hola16
