Whatever the season, Los Angeles is known for its sunny weather and blue skies. Take advantage of the good vibes and do what the locals do, head to the beach! Here are some of the best beaches in Los Angeles that you will find near the dunes hotel.

Santa Monica is an iconic beach in Southern California and in fact, is one of the most visited destinations in Los Angeles. There are a number of things that makes Santa Monica a great beach to visit. For one, the beach is quite large with the sand spreading out for 3.5 miles along the coast. It’s a soft sand beach and is in walking distance to the Santa Monica promenade, a famous shopping destination often visited by celebrities. The Santa Monica Pier also has a number of attractions including Pacific Park, the Amusement Park located right on the pier!

For a historic boardwalk stroll, Venice is the beach to visit. The Venice boardwalk is the place to go for people watching, budget friendly shopping and entertainment. With a number of street performers and local artists selling their craft, there is always something to see as you walk down the boardwalk. You’ll also find a selection of tattoo and piercing stores, medical marijuana dispensaries, skate and surf shops and more. The boardwalk, which stretches, for about 1.5 miles is also bicycle friendly and even offers a skate park.

Marina Beach, also known as Mother’s Beach is located in Marina del Rey. The beach is great for swimming and families with children. This is because there are no strong waves, which makes it a safer environment. At the beach, you will also find picnic tables as well as kayaking and windsurfing opportunities. If you don’t feel like packing a lunch, don’t worry, you’ll find a number of ocean front restaurants offering spectacular views.
