The Griffith Observatory sits atop the Hollywood Hills and is one of the most visited destinations in Los Angeles. In addition to being a renowned observatory featuring world class technology, it also is an architectural masterpiece that has been featured in movies such as La La Land or the classic film, Rebel Without a Cause. Since the observatory sits atop a hill, a visit to the observatory guarantees beautiful views of the city below and on a clear day, you can even see all the way to the Pacific Ocean! At the Griffith Observatory, you can learn all about the Universe through the interesting exhibits that they have throughout the building. On this self guided tour, you can learn more about sunsets and moonsets, our solar system, technologies helping us explore the edge of space and more. While you’re here, don’t forget to stop by the Samuel Oschin Planetarium for engaging programming that can be enjoying by all ages. Inside the planetarium, you can see the night sky up close through the Star Projector as well as other educational shows.

The Griffith Observatory is open Tuesday through Friday from 12pm to 10pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 10pm. The Observatory is closed on Mondays.
